GitHub Repo Scrubber

Delete multiple GitHub repositories at once.

Live at repo-scrubber.271098.xyz

Why did I build this?

I was a typical GitHub user— forking every cool repo I came across and dumping all my projects to GitHub 😅 (even back when I knew nothing about Git commands). When I finally decided to follow best practices, I wanted to start by cleaning up all the forks and dumps I'd never actually worked on or contributed to. Then I realized manually deleting a repo on GitHub is sooo time-consuming, and after rummaging through endless articles and forums, I found a few people who were okay with deleting repos from the comfort of shell scripts. Even though it gets the job done without having to type the repo name into the confirmation field, something felt off from a UX perspective. That's when I decided to build a web app with similar logic, but this time with the ability to delete multiple repos in just a few clicks, with a hassle-free UX.

Yeah, I know, it's a bit ironic to have this reside on a non-GitHub instance. Maybe, an opportunity to add more providers??!

What's new in v2?

This app was primarily built on Angular (13) and Bootstrap 5, hosted on GitHub, and was served via Cloudflare Pages.

Now rewritten on Angular 22 and uses Primer. Private repo deletion is now supported.

Development server

ng serve

Happy scrubbing :))
